Snowshoeing in the Rockies

New Year's Day is usually the day of nursing the hangover. So when our friends asked if we would like to snowshoe I was initially apprehensive. The fetal position with YouTube videos felt like a better use of my time, but since we are lucky enough to live near the mountains it seemed a waste to miss out.

We started out at the Brighton ski resort at the top of Big Cottonwood Canyon. It was a good decision, because it allowed us to walk down to Solitude (another ski resort) and drive back up. Downhill walking!

All in all it was a wonderful way to start the new year. The hiking cleared the hangover, and we spent the day breathing fresh air.
